My Norton Internet Security trial for my M1530 has only 6 days left, and is giving me annoying reminders to subscribe. However, I already have purchased the CD for Norton Internet Security 2008. Do I need to wait for the trial period to finish before I can install the full version? Also, do I need to uninstall the trial Norton before I install the full version? They both seem very similar to me, and was wondering if i would face any issues if I install the full version even if the trial is still currently functioning.

See if you can plug in the product key for Norton 08 into the trial.
Also, you may be able to upgrade to Norton 09 (It's really good) which was just released. -
I believe you may have two options. First, choose to install full version and input the registration key of from your CD to activate. Second, definitely uninstall current version and do fresh install.

Its better to uninstall completely using the norton removal tool and do a clean reinstall... and once you do it, get on the chat with norton support, and demand a free upgrade.. just say you love Norton and thats why you got NIS '08 and stuff like that... they would give you a free upgrade to NIS '09.. and you are good to go.
PS., and I think this thread can be moved to the Windows OS forum or Security forum.. -

Since you have purchased a subscription for Norton Internet Security 2008, you are eligible for a free update to the 2009 version. Your best bet would be to properly remove the trial copy and then install the 2009 version, using the 2008 key for activation.
1. Using Add/Remove or Programs & features, remove the trial version of Norton that was installed.
2. Click on the following link to download the Norton Removal Tool, which will ensure that all apsects of the trial are removed:
Norton Removal Tool and instructions
3. Make sure that your internet connection is working properly, and then click on the following link to visit the Norton Update Center.
Norton Update Center
4. Double-click on the installer to begin the installation. During the installation you will be prompted to access your Norton Account, where you will be asked for your activation key. Use the activation key provided on the CD sleeve for NIS2008 to activate the product.
Thank you,
Mike
