Available from Dell for the Precision M4300 with Quadro FX 360M. Worked directly on my XPS M1530 with GF8600GT without any modded inf files, may possibly work on the GF8400GS. Link http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R190536&SystemID=WRK_NBK_PNT_P4_M4300&servicetag=&os=WV64&osl=en&deviceid=13675&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=3&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=6&fileid=261501

I was playing with Bioshock on it (Vista Ultimate X64/T9300/4GB/250GB 7200RPM/WUXGA), with the stock driver X64 grabbed from Windows update, it was running OK. It runs better after installing this driver. I didn't run any benchmark, but it was borderline playable at 1920x1200 with everything on max. Runs decent at 1680x1050.

I work well with M1530 with 8600GT. Also It works with M1330 with 8400GS.

I went back to 165.55 version after experiencing BSD.

It's running great on mine, everything works perfectly including Bluray playback via Dell MediaDirect 3.5 (both within Vista x64 and booting directly into MediaDirect with the computer off). Bioshock, Lego Indiana Jones, and Crysis all run fine.

Did you "experiment" with different driver versions before installing this one? Mine was clean, no modded inf driver install or anything.

I updated all the drivers and re-installed 175.75 on M1530. Everything is working fine so far. I keep 165.55 on the M1330.

    Are these better than 174.74?

I currently have this one @ Silas... I had 174.31 before. I did not uninstall the previous one either. Just updated.. But I tried going for the 175.xx ones, but (1) I could not get them to install at all, with error message saying hardware not supported   (2) I read in another place (it was the laptopvideo2go community forum I think) where a mod recommended 174.74 and said its pretty good enough..

Meanwhile, I don't mean to hijack this thread, but once I have these modded drivers from laptopvideo2go (I got this 174.74 from there) will I not be able to "update driver" automatically since these are not digitally signed or whatever? and could this be the reason why I was not able to install 175.xx driver which I got from Nvidia site (or may be this is for 64-bit or something like that? In the products supported page there, they said 175.xx supports GeForce 8600 GT. But I could not install it. Anyway for now I have left it like that. But clarifications would be very helpful for me to know in the future :) Thanks
