I trying to work out what Vista 64bit drivers are best for the M1730 8800m GTX SLI.

I'm currently using the 175.19 Desktop drivers (Force install), but I'm a little worried about temps, as I leave my system on all the time, and with these drivers the GPU's stay at 500 / 1250 / 800, and never down clock.

If I leave my system on with the lid closed it gets a little too hot for my likeing, 75c idle.

So back to my questions, for those using Vista x64, what drivers are you using, and do they downclock when idle ?

How did you install the drivers? You say force install but I don't know how to do that. I just got my xps m1730 and the first thing I did was remove vista and put on the 64-bit version. So imagine how I felt when I couldn't find any 64-bit drivers that would install for the 8800m GTX SLI, not even on the nvidia site.

I'm also using the 175.19's (32-bit) and I don't see a 75c idle at all. Have you tried running HWMonitor @ startup (cold startup) and (keeping your lid closed) just let it run for a bit and then check your temps? 75c sounds wrong to me for an idle. Are the fans on? Temp does not decrease with fans running?

As an example, my system has been powered on for the last 4-5 hours. I've done a bit of gaming, surfing and general work. Currently my temp is @ 58c. I just opened up HWMonitor so I can't give you a max.
