    Hello everyone!

So I started a thread but that never worked for me, so I hope I can get some good opinions from actual 14z owners here. This was my post:

Really just need to know what you would do to yours right off the bat or any opinions from what I asked in the quoted. Thanks for reading!

Intel Rapid Start Technology Issues with Windows 8:
Has anyone tried configuring Intel Rapid Start on an SSD with Windows 8? When I do, Rapid Start works the on the first resume. On the second resume the system reboots instead of resuming.

Rapid Start works fine with Windows 7. As long as the SSD has the appropriate type 84 partition of the proper size, Rapid Start works consistently in Windows 7. If Rapid Start is enabled in the BIOS (pick one; I've tried them all) the Intel Rapid Start Technology Manager software isn't even necessary; it just works.

Windows 8 is a whole different story (for me, at least). I've tried it on two different XPS 14z's and two different brands of SSD (OCZ Agility 3 and Samsung 830). I've tried with and without the Rapid Start Technology Manager software; native W8 chipset drivers and Intel chipset drivers; native W8 SATA drivers and Intel RST drivers. All with the same results. After first sleep/transition to "Rapid Start hibernate" it resumes normally. The second sleep (without a reboot in between) appears to transition to "Rapid Start hibernate" but when I press the On button to resume, the system reboots.

Granted, resume from tradition hibernate is really quick with an SSD, but it bugs me why W8 is causing fits with Rapid Start. Any ideas?
    Tom
