Ok, I think I have a problem, or I'm just really odd.

After I spent so much money on this laptop, M1530, I hardly ever even want to use it for fear of messing it up. (scratches, dents, general wear&tear) BTW I've had it for 2 months now, maybe actually used it 5 times.

I know that I bought it to use it, but I'm just like this... I bought myself a new surefire E2D flashlight (130$) and I won't even carry it for fear os messing it up also...

Is anyone else like this? Or am I just bat **** crazy?

I have been using the laptop normally and as much as I want, starting 5 mins after I received the package in my hands from the UPS guy!!!

May be you should stop getting expensive gadgets? :D :D

And by the way, why start a new thread for this? I thought you had a "real" problem with your laptop or something... The title is misleading and unnecessary. No offence, though. Cheers.

    Oish...no no no..you are not crazy.. ;)

You are just really *protective* of your lappy!

I have had my 1530 since 1/08..and when I first got it..I treated it like a priceless piece of Artwork...To the point that I should've wrapped the outside in bubble wrap to act as a *buffer* from anything that might hurt it!

Now, I am just really very careful with mine!! No food & drink nearby it, and I keep it extremely clean, and am just careful where I use it. ;) Though, it is usually on my lap!!!

I think soon...you will find yourself not being so *guarded* with it as time go's on.... ;) :)

So, change that *crazy* word to just *guarded* lol... ;) :)

    Cin ;) :)

If you want to do that, you would need to PM a mod..and have them change it to what you want. ;) :)

You can change it to your Orginal post, but it will NOT carry on to the other posts in this thread.. :(

    Cin ;) :)

    Nah, sorry, Cin is wrong...

    You're crazy ;)

Why spend money on something and then never use it? You need to go watch Home Alone 2. "All I wanted for Christmas was this pair of rollerblades, and I got them and they were so nice. I only wore them once, and that was in my room. I never used them because I was afraid of messing them up. When I finally decided to use them, I didn't fit in them anymore."

With the speed technology progresses, it feels like a waste to me how fast my stuff gets updated, and I use my computers A LOT. I can't imagine the empty feeling you will have in 2-3 years when that laptop is worth 300 bucks and is slow compared to current market items, and you'll have dropped what? Over 1000 probably for 5 uses a year? Just take care of your things, neglect is the worst abuse of all!

Hmm, I never thought of it like that... It's true that if I never use my new lappy, by the time I actually start to use it - it will be obsolete....

Ha thanks! *Breaks out his new lappy*

Although I have noticed something about myself, once something gets a scratch, or dent, it's all downhill from there. I will still take care of it, I just won't be so anal.

hey, i myself am really careful of not damaging or even scratching my xps, thing is, stuff happens, the good part is, if something gets broken, dell will repair it right away and leave it looking like new, so no fear!!! use your lappy, if not it will get upset and it will not want to turn on one day...

(lol i allready got some scratches on my laptop, seems my watch caused them while in the heat of battle of me vs the massive multiplayer online community! i call them "Battle Scars" hehe)

Probably a phobia or obsession-compulsion. Something in the prefrontal cortex. Other than that, you're completely normal.

Hi, why do you not get a skin for it? There are a couple of different companies that have precut skins for the 1530. One of them is invisible shield, I forget the other one but if you search this forum (skins 1530 or skins 1330) you should find more information. It will prevent scratches and general dirt and wear.

haha...at first i didn't even want to touch it with my fingers in fear of smudges so i'd use a microfiber cloth when grabbing it (i was planning on putting an invisibleshield on it but it came in later than the laptop did.) now after putting the invisibleshield on i don't really care about smudges because i can wipe them off easily. i also put it in a backpack that's not designed for laptops but has a small pocket area in the main compartment that fits it perfectly but doesn't have much extra padding (it's a quiksilver bag which is a surf brand). my suggestion to you is to buy some kind of protective adhesive so you no longer have the fear of scratches/dings/etc. i'm not saying you'll be completely protective, but it's a lot better than NOT using your laptop which is completely CRAZY since you spent a load on it haha

Thread showing my invisibleshield and tips to installing

not to mention i have 4 year completecare warranty which covers accidental damage...so even if i dropped my laptop i'm pretty sure dell will fix it for me =)

Nothing's permanent in this universe. But that doesn't mean that we have to be so protective as to not use the thing we desire the most. What's the purpose of buying that laptop if ur not going to use it anyway..
Unleash the beast bro. It's not meant to be tied down.. ;)
