From circuit city for 219 shipped. I'm going to use it in my XPS 17(L702x) but need a 'guide' ? I'm not certain how to do a clean install of Win 7 on it as i don't have the Win 7 media. How have other members done it? Cloning? the drive is 128GB and I don't want to have unnecessary partitions or anything like that.

I've search all around this forum, but have not found any specific instructions for doing this on our systems.

    Help a brother out?? :D

You need to call dell and get them to ship you the win 7 dvd and drivers cd.

It's usually not a pain and they send them overnight. I always get every single DVD/CD for the OS/programs/drivers that comes standard. Getting all that is a pain sometimes, but I always do a fresh install and don't like downloading drivers with names like R28939.exe not knowing what I'm installing or wasting a bunch of time on their site figuring out what everything is. I've been doing this for over 7 years from dell with no problems.

The Crucial m4 (aka Micron C400, or the C300's predecessor) is supposed to be officially released in 6 days according to moderators on the Crucial forum. SuperBiiz.com has had the Micron version available for a few weeks now. The hardware is identical, they are just sold through different channels. Micron for OEM and Crucial for retail. $219 is a good price, the 128GB C400 might be closer to $299 on release. I would go with the new drive, but I'm a geek...
