Has anyone gotten any other operating systems, other than Windows 7, working on a newer 1645, with the 5730 video card and 6250 wifi card?

Drivers seem to be the big problem, unfortunately.

Why would Ubuntu not work? Better question- why would I want to use it since I already have Windows 7?

I'm just looking for other options that I can play around with a dual boot. I don't want to spend the trouble doing it if it's going to have a bunch of driver issues... Hence why I was asking if anyone else has tried other OSes?

I have Ubuntu working, its real fast. I like playing with it but nothing more as I cant find all the software I need to actually use it properly.

How did you get the wireless to work? For me it says that wireless is disabled and I can't seem to enable it. The wireless hotkey doesn't work either.

I've run both OpenSUSE and Fedora on mine, and I've never had a problem getting wireless to work, and I also have the 5730 and 6250. Though I have to agree with gpig, Windows 7 is pretty awesome. I'm just using Linux to expand my knowledge of it, but it doesn't come close to Win7 for user experience or utility.
