Hey everyone one..i know there has been a some chatter here and there about overclock with the sxps 1640. Most in fact want to down clock to fix heating issues lol. Well i have my xps running pretty well and heat is not a factor anymore. athough im still not too happy about how much i spent..just making this laptop reasonable. anyways has anyone ventured with setfsb or anything?
i forgot to write down my ics but i suppose i could pull it apart again. any info you have please

SetFSB doesn't work on the SPX16 as it has an pll chip.

Also underclocking won't really solve the heat issue much seeing as most of the heat comes from the southbridge which (as far as I know) has a fixed frequency.

You can change the graphics clocks though. When I tried it (I have the 3670 version) I could get the core down to about 25mhz and the memory to about 60mhz, it might be the other way round.... actually now I think about it it's probably the other way round.

I used rivatuner, you have to use one of the earlier versions though you can't use the latest version (catalyst blocks it or something like that).
