Well there are the 555M and 540M topics but not for the 525M so here it is.

    Post your max stable overclocks/scores/etcetera...

    Mine is stable at 780/1560/1000.

a month I managed to get mine stable at 740/1480/950

but since I decided someday to update gpu drivers to 276.50 beta and the bios to the latest version (A06) it became totally unstable and I had to lower it to 691/1382/930 so the stupids hangs and freezes on games dont happen anymore.

I noticed the freeze and buzzing sounds is happening to a lot of people, and I think most of them didnt even tried to OC.

the funny thing is that I tested the old OC with apps like OCCT the whole night it dont detect errors (it even got way more hot than while gamming, but didnt found any errors) and when I try the old overclock with games, after some minutes the crash is here :/

what BIOS version do you have? and gpu drivers?

I tried almost everything and I'm unable to get back my old OC working on games, just a "light" OC :/

ok, I tried downgrading bios and drivers to all versions and still no luck, then updated everything again to latest version and still no luck, also no overheating,I think my nvidia chip dont like high clocks anymore :/

685/1370/930 atm, no more crashes unless I try my old OC

well, at least I turned my 525m into a 540m like chip with the current clocks :D (previus OC was like the 550m clocks :( )

atm the highest 525m OC I saw is from this guy

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G34XU6jxXrE

    he is doing 835/1670/1080

yeah, I would vote for that or that some bios update updated the nvidia video bios to a "less overclock tolerant version".

however whatever it is ,seems I'm screwed :D

    PS: loving your spanish :)

I've not had too much good luck with overclocking the memory... if it goes over 950, i seem to run into game problems...
However, i've overclocked the base gpu clock to 700 with the memory at stock and it works very good, stable with no issues...

I recommend overclocking the gpu first and see if u notice a difference...
Not sure of how much a performance increase there is with overclocking the memory...
If anyone has before/after benchmarks with memory overclocks, that would be interesting...

I'm not positive since I don't use it but I think SpeedFan will do that for you.

    Added:
After reading about others experience with SpeedFan and Dell laptops, it doesn't sound like SpeedFan works with Dell.

Hello peoples, I'm new to the l502x, I wanted to know which software I can measure the temperature of the cpu and gpu in real time?

I've been playing and noticed that the air goes hot enough, should I worry or is ready for that?

    Sorry for my English

    thanks

    PD: I have i7 2630qm and 525m.

hi Ramonero, I recomend give a try to MSI afterburner, this should be enough to monitorize temperatures/ussage and overclock the GPU, about the CPU, you can use the windows task manager to monitorize the ussage, about the cpu temps, you can use everest or any other software wich monitorize the temperature sensors.

nice overclock irishconvict , sadly, for some reason my GPU stoped enjoing overclock after A bios update, did rollback to the previus BIOS version , but had no luck

    685/1370/930 At the moment

the curius thing is I tested burning the GPU with higher clock values like 720 clock Running OCCT tests the whole night and no artifacts or nothing, however when I try play in a game everything higher than my current clock crash the machine, running latest nvidia drivers atm.

thx, I will try leaving the memory settings to default (900, I think)

I had it to 925 right now, but it might help to raise higher core clocks with default clocks.
I think core OC seems to be almost the only noticiable change in FPS since the GPU core is the one who render each frame.

I read about one guy disabling turbo in bios since skyrim was only like using 25% of his cpu anyways. I play Rift with throttlestop keeping the clock at 1.2 and I can play at 1080p fine, otherwise when I went into the city the CPU would go nuts and the fan would haul . Its funny, city seems fine at 1.2Ghz, just some things draw slower sometimes.

This thread is making me want to try to overclock my 525m again with the lower cpu clock.

    Alright got a question here, I overclocked my card to different settings and here are the results while running 3dmark11 with no freezes or black screen etc;
    1. 740/1480/975, max temp 77, score 1183
    2. 780/1560/1020 max temp 83, score 1253

I'm having bf3 come in, in a day or two so I'll really test the clocks then, not sure if 3dmark11 gives the same result. Which should I run on? 1 or 2? Is it true that temp should not exceed 90? I have a 2520m, 525m 1gb, and 4gb ram.

im running my 525m in 15z laptop so not such a good cooling as in your l502x but still able to oc the core to 700mhz, so higher than 540m stock speed.
    1114 3dmark11 score with 700/900 clocks
    4655 3dmark vantage 740/900 clocks
even overclocked got very low temperatures, usually 65c on graphics card and i5 under 70c too which is amazing.
no overheating problems, thats why i went with i5 and not i7 processor.
