murphy, my stupid(!) dog spilt a glass of chenin blanc on my dell inspiron 1720 about a month ago. i cleaned it, left it to dry etc etc and eventually switched it back on, and found that everything was fine except for a couple of keys not working. i have tried to swap the keyboard, but now different letters dont work!!(close to the original ones ie w didnt work initially, now e doesnt). Any ideas from anyone pls?

Try re-seating the new keyboard a few times? Try to clean the keyboard connector with rubbing alcohol while you're at it? Failing that, your new keyboard is faulty, or you've actually got some sort of motherboard fault. Definitely strange that different keys aren't working, though.

If you have warranty then let dell take the hassle.
