    Nope. Besides, you can`t OC the CPU in it unless you have an extreme CPU...

    You can OC through SetFSB, by finding out your PLL chip. This type of overclock will also overclock other busses.

    The proper way to OC is possible on Xtreme processors via BIOS level (unlocking last 2 multipliers)

    yea.. it looks like the SLG PLL is the closest ones available - they show the right clocks, but will freeze up if you try changing

    Why not just open up the notebook and look for the PLL chip ?! They are normally surface-mounted on the top side of the MoBo (Keyboard Side).... :rolleyes:

    Because that's like risking to void your warranty.
    And most XPS 1730 come with 3 year full warranty :D

    Owh..I guess if done right, it shouldn't hurt the warranty. (Or a 3 Year wait :D)
    And, OCing the FSB is alot more risky than that.
    Done wrong, Mainboard/GPU/RAM -> French Omlette :p

    whats a pll chip look like? cause i got mine open...


    and btw, theres no way for dell to know whether or not you opened your laptop. there's no sticker or anything like a desktop.
