    Device Manager>Monitor>Properties>Drop Down Menu-Hardware Ids

If is says LG, then it is an LG.

Hi guys, I'm new here. Going off this poll I just changed my M1530 order from 1680x1050 to 1440x900 lol. I don't want to take any chances with the grainy screen and have to go through all that hassle to replace it. I will report back once I receive my system.

UK m1530, ordered last week. Rep said they only ship with new-generation samungs. Arrived with AU Optronics screen. Crap screen, same grain and lighting issues as the samsungs.

    Interesting Poll-

I also received the LPLDF00 screen - but I have to be honest here - my LG is grainy too (albiet a little). The LG might be better than the Samsung and others - but its not all that great either. My basis for this is when I compared the LG to my HP Laptop or my brother's Macbook Pro (same resolution).

Maybe this is a result of the 'True Life' glossy screen - I sure miss those old matte screens.

(I mentioned this also in the m1530 Grainy Screen thread)

This really pisses me off. I've had my laptop for less than a week.
When I received the lappy, the invoice says LG screen on it. So I was all happy. I double-checked in the device manager today, and I have a SEC3157 screen. This is my first laptop, so I can't really compare the screen to anything. But I don't think it's grainy.

Can anyone who has gotten a screen replacement from DELL answer some questions?
Do I ask for a full laptop replacement or have it "repaired"?
Do they pay for shipping and what do I ship it in? (and how long does it take?)
Also, can I call anytime within the warranty I purchased or does it have to be within the first 21 days or something?

    Thanks!

Yes I have the AUO too. It's a beautiful screen...not grainy at all. I've seen both AUO and Samsung first hand and AUO is superior. The LG is meant to be the best but I don't know how much better it can be than the AUO.

Is it normal for DELL to decline a grainy screen repair?

    Code:
CCCS Craig D: Thank you for contacting Dell Canada Home and Small Business Customer Service Chat. My name is Craig. How may I help you today?
Me: Hi, I purchased my notebook about 2 months ago and am not happy with a few things
Me: My screen is very grainy and it is a samsung screen, while the invoice says it is an LG screen...
CCCS Craig D: Can I have your service tag please.
CCCS Craig D: They also do no differentiate between screens. The SKUs for the screens are interchangeable.
    Me: ********
Me: I also noticed some other smaller problems
Me: When I open the screen out about 160º, it starts to make a terrible plastic grinding sound against the battery. The plastic by the webcam seems like its very loose, and the keyboard doesn't lie perfectly flat
CCCS Craig D: Those are all normal.
    Me: Ok
Me: But I definitely want a replacement screen if possible
CCCS Craig D: The replacement screen will come as the same.
    Me: I need a replacement
CCCS Craig D: I'm sorry, but we will not provide a replacement.
Me: Yes, you will let me send my laptop in for repair and give me a replacement LCD screen
CCCS Craig D: No, we will not.

This greatly frustrates me. Did I need to return it within 30 days of purchase?

You've got a year's warranty so no it shouldn't be only for the first 30 days.

Man...that customer service rep seems like a real a**hole...
