Hi, I have owned my XPS for almost 3 months now.
I realize that stains have started appearing on the silver edge (I mean the silver coating on the plastic edge). I tried to wipe it off but was unable to do so. I been cleaning a lot and I don't remember dirtying it. Anyone encountered the sam problem?
I had my LCD changed due to a stuck pixel a few weeks ago. Due to the rough work of the technician, I have also got small bits of paint chip off at the same silver edge.
Do you think I stand a chance of getting the casing changed? Sorry, but I am a clean freak when it comes to my XPS. I love my macine and refuse to see it come to any harm.

Any damage your tech caused will be fixed if you tell support about it.
Laptop care is a very big thing, I myself have these wipes made for LCD HDTVs, I wipe down ever inch of my laptop with it. Bottom, keyboard, screen, palm-rest, media buttons, sides, lid and plastic sides. I wipe it down twice a day, you can see how I had it in my sig, and it looks like the day I got, there is not the slightest flaw. -
I have sent down the technician to come take a look at my GPU as well as the paint chips. I do feel a little bad about asking them to look at the paint chip, afterall this is just an aesthetic issue.
But then again, it's only been 2-3 months and I hardly touch that part of the machine. Paint chips in 2 months is bad....
But I must say that service for the XPS has been great so far. 24 hours response, and next day service is something unheard as far as I am concerned. Maybe I just haven't been around.
I will probably be extending my XPS warrenty for 3 years (it's 1 now), since I don't know when my GPU will die.
