I just formatted my computer and reinstalled Windows Vista I have the C drive Partition(229GB) and the Media Direct Partition (3GB) on my hard disc. I have a 250GB hard Disc and was wondering where the 21GB was and how can i get it back.

I am probably going to reformat again, one partition for the OS and Programs and another partition for my music, movies, data etc. I don't know How much space should I allocate to the OS/Program partition. If Vista took 15GB to install would I need to make the partition say, 20GB so I can install my programs, such as antivirus, drivers, backup, etc?

A 250 HDD only has ~232 actual GBs. Decimal v. Binary.

You need to allocate enough space for Vista + all your programs and applications.
