    Hi,

After going through many years of problems with my M1330 I learned on this forum that there has been an underlying GPU issue this whole time. I was sold the computer with the known issue in May of 2008.

According to Dell they have NEVER given out replacements or refunds for the m1330. Obviously this is a lie. My NVIDIA warranty ends soon and I really don't have the $ for a new comp (just out of school).

I have been treated quite poorly by Dell over this entire period.

This was Dell's response to the BBB
    ---------------------------
    Dear Better Business Bureau,

Thank you for providing a copy of the customer's submission. Customer expressed dissatisfaction with Dell service and support and wants his computer replaced or a refund. We regret any dissatisfaction the customer may have experienced and appreciate the feedback. As the computer was purchased in 2008, a return for a refund would not be an option. Dell records do not agree with the customer's description of events and indicate the NVidia issue was not known to Dell at the time of the customer's purchase. Since the date of the submission, a Dell representative contacted the customer to discuss his concerns. For customer satisfaction reasons, the representative offered to troubleshoot the issue the customer currently has and, if NVidia GPU related problems were diagnosed, as a one-time exception, the representative would process a depot repair service. The customer declined this offer for assistance. Should the customer reconsider and want to accept the representative's offer, we ask that he contact the representative within ten days from this response at *********@Dell.com for any further assistance he may need regarding this matter.
    -------------------------

Note that they said they had no knowledge of the issue at the time of purchase. They said my issues are not related to the GPU problems but clearly they have not troubleshot my computer and the messed up video i get from time to time might disagree. Also, the leave out the fact that any replacement GPU would be the same model. Lastly, they offer a "one time" depot service. Well over the last 6 months I have had 2 of these depot services while just under the NVIDIA warranty. They repaired my hard drive and palm rest and re-installed my OS. All these things are NOT covered under the extended warranty. These were just IMO in lieu of telling me the truth about the actual history of my computer.

The funny thing is I actually thought Dell's service was great because they always fixed it for me fast. Never knew I was sold a dud this whole time. I almost spend money on an SSD to extend its life.

Please let me know what you think. If you are willing to give me concrete proof of refunds/replacements just PM. It would be appreciated but any advice would be nice.

    Thanks

Basically if you're under warranty, you get a replacement. If not, they will just replace the motherboard and/or other parts needed.
