This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Personalize and Control Panel do not pop up - Dell M1530

    Recently I've been experiencing a problem where Personalize does not pop up, and where the Control Panel will pop up but it will be blank.
    I was installing Vista Themes and Icons, but it only started happening maybe 2 days after I started doing that. I tried doing a system restore to way before I even installed any Themes, but it still doesn't work.
    I also did mess with the browseui.dll and shell32.dll, but I already replaced them with the original files.

    Any ideas or suggestions? If I have to reinstall, I might as well put Windows 7. Kinda getting tired of all the needless problems with Vista.
