I think I remember reading this somewhere, that you can watch DVDs without actually logging into windows?

Am I correct? And if so, how do you do it?

Please don't think I am lazy, I have all of my computer documentation packed up in boxes. I am moving into a new place Fri. and I don't want to go searching through the boxes.

So, will you tell me what the media direct button is? Where it's located? How do I actually play the movie without logging in?

Its the button with a little small home with a single door image on top of it, next to the lights (more precisely the Num Lock light) which in turn is next to the main power button which 'in-another in-turn' is next to the media touch controls. Just press on it and you will boot up into media center and then you can browse through. its easy. :) Cheers.

Edit: A single small door and a smoke chimney too! Forgot that.. ;-) Cheers.

The MediaDirect button is right there to the left of the power button, it has a picture of a little house on it. Just hit it while the power is off and your laptop will boot into a smaller side-operating system with a built-in media player. From there, it should be pretty simple, it works like any other media player. Just pop in a DVD.

Wow I never knew that I could do that. Nice.

Thanks everyone that replied! Again, I'm not lazy - I just can't get to my manual.

    Thanks again!
