I have just upgraded my Dell Studio Xps 1640 to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit (previous is Vista Home 32bit). I have looked at the Drivers download in Dell Website. After chooing the service tag and Operating System, there were a long list of drivers which I do not know which one I should install to get my Dell to the Factory Image of other Studio XPS1640 with Windows 7 64bit. I also downloaded all the software in My Dell Download.
After installing some core drivers, I still could not see the Dell symbol and the Studio XPS 1640 series in My Compyter/ Properties.
Moreover, the eject button of my DVD slotload doesn't know anymore, even if I have check I downloaded the lastest driver of it. (but I can eject by right click in the DVD driver in My Computer and my laptop still reads CD/DVD as usual)
In addition, after install ATI 3670 drivers, I do not see the ajustment for my graphic card anymore.
Any one knows which drivers and software I should install to get my Dell as a new Factory Image Dell Studio XPS 1640 with Windows 7 64 bit, please let me know.

The Dell branding in System properties is fluff. It has nothing to do with the performance or stability of your system. Its possible to get it back, but would require much more effort than it is worth.

Your DVD slot loader shouldn't need any drivers for correct operation. Do you mean the soft touch eject control is not ejecting? If thats the case you may need Dell Quickset. Download and install Quickset.

On the ATI front, do you not have the catalyst control center in your Start menu? You may need to re-install the driver, you should have the ATI CCC application from a standard driver install. You could try going to ATI's site and downloading their driver instead of Dell's rebranded (and older one).

Wow, it works with the eject button. Thank you very much for your help. But in the drivers list, there are too many other driver such as SATA (for hard drive) and Network card etc... I do not know whether I have installed enough drivers and sofware or not in order to maximise the performance of my laptop? Have you got a list of what I should download, I really appreciate if you can. Anyway, thank you very much. :D
