Hey, my first post! I just recently found this website and I love it!

Is there anything you recommend changing to this configuration? I'm right at $1,401, after the 25% off coupon. I also do not want to spend much more than this. Thanks in advance!

I think that's pretty decent configuration and maybe you could go
    for more hard drive capacity?
But wow free upgrade to 9cell battery??
I ordered mine this thursday with 6 cell, I should call up dell about this
if I could switch it to 9 cell since 6 cell is causing delay

drop your ram to the lowest configuration. get the 320gb 5400rpm hdd and don't get the LED. its overrated not worth the money IMO

Drop RAM to 2GB and buy the rest elsewhere.

Add the 320GB 7200RPM Hard Drive as the 320GB 5400RPM drive is no longer available.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback.

    Couple followup questions here:

Is it more important to get the larger HDD size, or should I go with the 7200rpm over the 5400rpm?

Is the LED really over-rated? I thought that was the way to go, based on some of the threads I've read on this site.

    Thanks again!

    more space

LED is nice for a light laptop like m1330, but its optional for a mainstream 15.4" notebook...... its a little brighter than CCFL and a little better battery life(<10%), but if the premium's over $200, forget it

It depends what you're looking for, 7200rpm will certainly offer better performance. Unless you really need to extra space then I would go for a 7200, it's cheap to buy an external HDD for more storage but it's not cheap to upgrade to a faster internal HDD at a later date.

I don't know much about the LED but it certainly wouldn't hurt to get it.

Keep the LED, you will be happier with it. You could look at upgrading the hard drive space, though it depends on your needs. You could definitely save by upgrading the RAM yourself.

I will have to research the LED more before making a decision. Good to hear your opinions though.
