:O My original did about 4 months after, and had 3 mobo replacements, but my replacement has been 4 months and havent had any GPU problems yet
-
No problems so far
Had it since June -
Mine died at 9 months (2 weeks ago)
Knock on woods...it's been good since then.
-
Wait a minute.. is it expected to fail? Should I expect to turn on my M1530 one day and it just won't work?! :O I got mine in June or July and haven't had any issues with the gfx card; I've updated to BIOS A09 which supposedly makes the fan operate more and everything, and I don't play too many hardcore games .. Has there been some Dell press release on this?! this seems unacceptable
-
I think the problem is primarily with M1330's not M1530's hence yours hasn't set on fire like ours
-
Failed TWICE! first, a couple of months after it arrived, then about a year after the replacement.

Nope both cards are susceptible to nvidia's mess, in fact all 8 series mobile cards are supposed to be at risk because of it.
-
failed around 10 months
-
mine's been fine since 2007
-
Mine has been fine since January 2008.
-
For those whose failed, did you do the copper mod prior to failure?
-
Mine failed after 5 months
-
In the Copper Mod thread I read of a couple who failed (it's near the end)
But mine has worked just fine (although the problem is supposed to be heat cycles and not overheat) -
failed after 6 months

My motherboard failed yesterday and should be replaced this Friday.
Delivery Date : 06.01.2008
Failure Date : 05.11.2008
10 months exactly
I've owned lots of Toshiba notebooks in the past and never had a problem, but then again, these GPUs are infernos. The M1330 is a great machine, though, and so long as Dell is willing to respect (and extend) my GPU warranty, that's ok with me.
I'd applied the copper mod in July, which kept GPU temperatures down to 80 °C max while gaming, but the damage had already been done. As soon as the new motherboard has been installed the copper plate is going back in! Then I'll know if the mod is a long-term solution or just a stop-gap before the next failure. Still have 3 years' GPU warranty left to find out! -

After voting that mine hasn't failed after 8 months, now at the 9+ month mark, mine has started to fail
-
I think it will also be very useful if people could also indicate when they bought their laptop (some already have).
I spoke to a Dell Sales Rep who said that after August 2008 the M1330 was shipped with an updated GPU (different kind of solder) and also Dell had updated the heat sink design. It would be very interesting to know if anyone has ordered a BRAND NEW laptop FROM DELL after August 2008 that has also failed GPU wise. -
I already voted before (6-8 months). But just so you guys now: Bought mine on April 2008 - failed on October 2008.
-
First MoBo replacement....7 month....
Second Mobo replacement I forced manual for a new Mobo... crash ...in 4 weeks.
Regards. -
