I'm looking at notebooks and want the best of all worlds. Looking mostly at the Latitude D630 an the XPS M1330. I'm a light weight gamer and don't need high end game graphics. I do run lots of statistical analysis software and need something that provide decent desktop replacement performance. Was really looking at the D630. Then I'd buy a port replicator, nice wide screen monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I think it would serve my needs pretty well as a "desktop" and yet would be reasonable portable for travel. That said, I think I like the M1330 more than the D630 as a portable. I really like the smaller size. Are there any port replicators that really work well with something like the M1330? Reviews I read on most of the port replicators made by other brands have generally not been good. Anything else I should be looking at? Thanks!

Port replicaters are not really what you call "reliable" and are pretty much useless at this day in age. Go for latitude since I believe it has a dock. Double check.

Yes, the Latitude line has a dock specific to the line.

As for the m1330, a USB hub will probably be your best bet, or a USB dock which doesn't have video.

Look at a telly with hdmi - that way you can get sound and video from one cable.
    Then a usb dock

Given your requirements, you should go with the latitude. It is better built than the 1330, and has a proper docking station.
