I've had this since October of 2010. The SXPS 1645 that I currently own is a replacement from SXPS 1640 with it's ridiculous heat problem. Since I got the replacement, I was satisfied. But I don't know if any other 1645 owners have this problem but until recently, I was playing Black Ops and noticed my fps goes down and screeching sounds when it gets pretty hot. It usually occurs around 2hrs mark or less. I don't have any problems with MW2 or COD4. Some of the other games like Dragon Age 2, I notice fps drop because the laptop needs to work a bit harder. But I don't understand the fact that Black Ops is the only game that makes the noise and fps drop when the game runs on older COD engine. I've tried running the game with battery only, but it still persists although it kinda settles. Can someone help me?

I assume I'd have to buy the new termal paste (Arctic Silver 5)? And to clean old thermal paste off, just use water soaked cloth or something? Is there a specific guide to do this?

I don't have a program that can tell me the temperature.
