    Alright boys 'n girls!

Considering all the debate going on about the ventilation on this system, I figured it would be best to see the sort of temperatures people are getting.

Post your HWmonitor screenies or the temps alone! Also, make sure you post what power mode you're in! Don't forget to mention whether you have the 9500 or the 9400!

    Let's see those screenies!

I think after we get some temperature readings, we will be able to conclude just how bad the ventilation issue is.. if at all. :)

hmm. Doesn't look too bad actually?
Do you have the 9500 GPU? Or just the 9400? Also, were you doing anything intensive at that time?

    No HD?

    Let's see some more!!!! :)

Mine about matches Rumon above, but it used to be a bit hotter until I re-did the thermal paste which was applied pretty badly. Of the several threads about the lid blocking the vents, I've never seen a poster actually demonstrate a significant temperature difference with the lid closed. Plus it's not that hot anyway.

It is. Look at the hardware, not the software.

I think some users are experiencing crashing and automatically attributing it heat, because of some poorly done reviews floating around on the net. Reinstall Vista w/o the dell crap and it should be fine.

Yea I agree to that, it gets hot only when I really really stress it, which is the case with all laptops. Also, since I started using Fedora 10 (64bit) on this SXPS 13, it has never crashed/frozen like Vista.
My idle CPU temps are around 44-45 C and loaded CPU temps around 57-58C in Fedora. GPU temp stays between 60-62 C as reported by the Nvidia utility in linux.
