After a couple weeks of running perfectly, my computer is starting to act up. A few days ago I noticed that when I pressed the power button to turn on the computer, there was a delay of about five seconds before the computer reacted. That was weird, I thought, but nothing unbearable. Today when I started up my computer, not only was there a delay, but when it did start up I got the BSOD. It was only there for a few seconds so I couldn't read much of what it said.

I started Windows normally, and the computer seemed like it was running fine, but a few minutes after turning it on I noticed the fans came on. I opened HWMonitor, and lo and behold, one of the temperatures listed was all the way up to 65°C after just five minutes of use! WTH? I'm only using the internet, and CPU usage is normal. When typing this I'm noticing the slightest of lagging, and there is a very quiet, but strange noise coming from the inside of the computer (only when I type). It almost sounds like I was tapping one of my earrings on the inside of the computer.

I'm going to call Dell in a bit and see if they know what's going on, but in the mean time, does anyone here know what might be happening? Thanks in advance for any help!

Now it's gone up to 69°C, even though I left it alone for a while and just started using it again (the temperature never went down). I've noticed that the area under the left palmrest feels the warmest to the touch, whereas normally the area under the right side feels the warmest... The right side isn't that warm though because I haven't been doing any heavy-duty tasks. I guess the left side feels a bit abnormally warm.

I'm going to have to call Dell tonight since I have class all day.

I did not experience this (Hopefully not). Have you tried Windows Restore ?
