Was just wondering if anyone else have or heard of the following issue.
When I connect my Sony MP3 player to one of the USB inputs prior to starting up my XPS 17 computer I get the following prompt at start up,"Operating system not found"
I then have to remove the MP3 player from my computer and restart it and it then starts up as normal, surely this is not normal.

Check your boot order, perhaps it is set to use USB before Hard Drive? That would mean it is trying to boot from the MP3, and finding somewhat of an OS, but not one that will work, so it throws that message. I'd make sure Hard Drive is set to either first, or second right after CD drive. USB as a third or lower option.

Sounds like your laptop is trying to boot Windows from the USB. MP3 players are seen as storage devices, and perhaps the default is to boot from USB when one is connected during startup. You could probably change the BIOS settings to avoid this.
