I have a 1080p TV and I used to be able to connect to it and have it displaying my desktop in full 1080p. It can still display it in full 1080p but for some reason the sides of my desktop extend beyond the actual screen.
For example, I can't see the bottom task bar/start button and my recycle bin (on the top left) is hidden except for the letter "n."
What's the problem? It used to work perfectly fine and I downloaded the latest driver for my nVidia 8400 from the dell website after I reformatted my laptop.
BTW, I believe this is my first time trying to hook up my m1330 the my TV after I did the reformat and did most of the things in that "Vista Top Tweaks and Guides" thread and it giving me this problem.

Oh and if I go to the "Display Settings" screen and lower the resolution from 1920x1080 to anything else then I get my full desktop as it should normally appear.

i have a desktop with an nvidia card and i have experienced this problem before so the solution should be the same. i think when you connect the computer to the HDTV and go into the nvidia control panel, their should be an extra menu that you can go on the side that has HDTV settings. i am not connected to an HDTV right now so i can't see it. in the HDTV settings there shoudl be an option to adjust overscanning and that should be able to adjust the screen size. hope this helps

Anybody who is having the same problem; simply plug in your HDMI cable, set press Fn+F8 (on m1330 and probably any dell) until you get your HDTV as your main and only screen (your laptop screen should be off) and then head into the nVidia control panel and on the left side one of the last tabs should be something like "Adjust HDTV screen size."
Problem with m1330 and HDMI. Please help!
