Hi. Last week i bought a Dell XPS M1710, and after a clean reinstall of the Windows XP Home Edition, the USB mouse that i was using stopped working. (I installed all the drivers that came with the notebook). Under The "Universal Serial Bus controllers" (in Device manager), i have 5 "Intel(R) 82801G (ICH7 Family) USB Universal Host Controller" that are working well, and 5 "USB Root Hub", with the yellow exclamation mark.
The second problem is that i hear a non-continous beep, somewhere inside the DVD Drive(I guess.. left side of the notebook, that's for sure). Note that this beep was always present, even before the reinstallation. It is very annoing, especially because although this laptop had a nice discount, it was still an expensive one, and i didn't expect to find this kind of problemHope you can help me
PS: sorry about my english

Are you sure the "beep" isn't the infamous CPU whine?
It's been discussed at length in threads like this one

It isn't a problem that's exclusive to one model.
As for the USB Root Hubs, I guess you could try uninstalling them and rebooting to let Windows redetect them.
