I'd heard that it's better to order from Dell by phone because you can get additional options and whatnot. When I finally decide to pull the trigger I decided I'd follow this advice. After a supremely annoying 45 minutes and giving the lady my financial information she says she needs to get some form for me to sign and it will be e-mailed to me. Next day: no e-mail and when I call her extension she's on goddamn vacation. What do you think guys? Call up and cancel next chance I get and buy it online? Should I wait? Should I call up my bank and de-authorize any payments in the near future (maybe I'm paranoid but this woman has my SIN and my bank account information)? Ugh, what a craptastic service, why does it even exist?

If you order online you can get cashback through sites like FatWallet dot com. I ordered my last Dell on the phone because I had two rebate gift certificates and their online system could only process one.

^^OP is from Canada chances that any deals pertaining to sites like FW working are very slim.

OP. Did this Reps VM indicate when she would be back from vaca? Or, did she mention anyone handling her business during the interim? You, could dial back & ask to speak with her supervisor...or ask to be connected to someone else that can help you conclude business of your sale & just start over with that Rep.

Did you happen to get any kind of Reference Number?

If you havent received that form she needed so badly, doesnt seem like the sale can get very far.. ;)

She left a message saying she's coming back July 1st. I honestly don't even want to purchase via phone anymore since the only way I could do so was through financing (blehrg). I'd much rather use Paypal and buy online. There is ONE thing that would prevent me from buying online right now and although it seems trivial it's very important. When you purchase a laptop from Dell online, does the receipt (or invoice or whatever) they give you have your name on it? I'm buying the laptop using sutdent loans and they requir ethat I send them in a receipt with my name on it. (And Quebec Sales Tax but since I'm shipping to Quebec I believe that's guaranteed)

So yeah, my question, does the receipt they e-mail/send to you have your name on it? If so, I'ma order online tomorrow morning and cancel my order with what's-her-India as soon as she gets back.
