Does anyone know what the prices for extending a warranty is?
On a brand new XPS 15.
Also, what are the options?
1 year?
2 year?
Thank you! I couldn't seem to find it.

you can upgrade to 2, 3 or even 4 years with next day hardware support.
if you want to find out the price you should call dell.
dont know where you are based but the US site is Dell - Dell Services Store
or the UK site Dell Warranty Information
if your in another country, just go to dell support and look for extend & upgrade warranty. -
Thank you for the info, very helpful!

you're very welcome

When you find out please post it here! I'm interested in finding out as well.

You will be paying for extended warranty based on your original machine, not your new one. Expect about $300 or possibly more for 2 years.

Remember that Consumer Reports says that the average repair bill IF your computer fails in the extended warranty period is about the same as buying the extended warranty. I have owned many laptops and have never had any of them fail between the end of year 1. when the warranty expired, and the end of year three.
The profit is in the extended warranty. If you buy it, thanks for subsidizing those of us who only buy the computer. -
^^I purchased a 3 year warranty when I ordered my 1530. And, it very well paid itself off w/in the 2 years I owned my 1530. When, I was moved over to the 1640...My warranty w/Accidental that was transferred over. And, that Accidental became necessary to use.
Usually, near your original warranty expiration Dell will contact you about extending. That, is where you may be able to work in a better deal then offered, also.

Max year on a system is 5 years from what I've been told by Dell.
So if you origianally bought a system with 3 yr warranty, got an replacement system on the 3rd year, you will still only be able to extend the warranty 2 more years.
Aside from what they told me, both my AW systems were replacement from XPS systems which broke on their 3rd year, and I was able to extend one system to next 5 years, and another one for 4. Cost me more than 1k, but I think it was well worth it.
