Hey everyone, I recently bought a refurbished Studio XPS 16 with the 1080P RGB screen and was very disappointed. It did not seem very bright and was unable to accurately reproduce the color 'white'. Everything that was supposed to be white (windows explorer background, wordpad, etc) seemed blue-grayish. I ended up returning the laptop but was just wondering if this is a common issue or if I had a dud. I would love to order another Studio XPS 16, but only want to do so if this is not a problem with all the 1080P RGB displays.

    Thanks for your feedback!

I haven't received mine yet, but I'm pretty sure it's a dud because if it wasn't why would everybody say it's the best screen on the market? So yeah dud

I tried to calibrate it as much as I could without calibration tools... but there was no improvement, something was definitely off. Comparing it to my Desktop LCD as well as a MSI Wind and HP DV4 all had much better contrast, white reproduction and brightness.

If your HP DV4 had better contrast it's safe to assume there was something off with the Dell display.

Try to associate this ICC profile with your screen (and download an LUT loader like Spyder2 Express): (check attached file)

Thanks for the ICC profile... unfortunately I already sent the notebook back. I'm going to order a brand new one and see if the screen is any different. Thanks everyone for your feedback!
