    I have never bought a computer from Dell. Just ordered an XPS 15 and it says estimated ship date of 1/13/11. I just wanted to know if they usually meet their estimated shipping dates in your experience.

    They usually will meet the EDD or earlier depending on if all parts are in stock. Look in this thread to find out how they are currently running.

    Mine was ordered Nov 10 - Original Estimated Delivery Date Dec 8 - Actual Ship Date Nov 24 - Delivered Nov 26.

    Both time I ordered laptops and everything else I've ever ordered from Dell has come sooner than the original EDD. However, I do see the rare posts where people's EDDs keep getting moved later.

    What is weird is on their website when I look up the order it says "In Production". Since Tuesday however when I call the 800 number it says that it shipped out on January 13th (which obviously we aren't to the 13th of January yet). The person that I eventually talked to said that it has shipped but that we might not see any movement for a couple of days. Still no tracking information or any change. I don't understand Dell's logistics so I don't know if this is normal or not.
