My girlfriend owns a new XPS 16 and she's worried about getting scratches on it + dirt in the grills. Has anyone come up with a good protective solution that isn't complicated to apply? Hers is the glossy finished SXPS 16 without the leather.

    Thanks.

I bought the Zagg invisible shield. Even though it's intended for the leather version ( the skin doesn't cover the leather part), for some reason there was a 2nd skin inside the box. So I cut the 2nd one to conform to the are on my
machine normally wrapped in leather, as I have the glossy version like your girlfriend.

For the speaker grills, I made 2 Studio XPS logo stickers on transparent material and cut them to include the entire grill except the upper section where the actual speaker is located. Got the idea from another thread. So far, no issues to the sound and no dirt is getting into the other parts of the grill.

What kind of stickers did you use for the speaker grill portion?

Heya Asherek, would you be up for posting pics of the Zagg invisible shield and grill stickers?

Also does the Zagg reduce or eliminate the fingerprint problem or is it glossy too?

    thanks

Oops, sorry about the delay in replying. I used Avery label stickers, I printed the Studio XPS logo onto 2 of them using my printer.

The stickers are transparent, the logo is black/silver. So I have one on each of the grills, and it covers everything except at the very top where the actual speakers are located. So far, so good. No white dust particles and the sound is unchanged.

I'll try and post some pics a little bit later today or tomorrow if I remember. The Zagg eliminates some of the finger print problem for sure. It remains glossy to look at still. But there still are fingerprints that show up. It's not going to eliminate the problem completely.

Yeah, I see what you mean. I got to finger someone's invisishielded phone, and I would assume it's the same finish.
