My new laptop arrived today, and I'm really pleased with it. The specs are in my sig, but I have a few questions about it.
Firstly, when I got the laptop I had a bit of a play around with it, and noticed a rather cool audio control panel in the system tray which improved the sound considerably. However, as I've now reformatted the machine, I can't seem to find it - I installed the audio driver from the website which made everything work, but the creative x-fi application won't install - it just starts the install wizard and disappears. Any way to fix that?
Also, I've heard lots of stories about these throttling/overheating. Is it worth me opening it up to replace the TIM? Are there any fan control apps I can use?
I'll probably have more questions soon, but that's all for the moment. Anyone who can answer will of course recieve +rep.
    Thanks :)
