    Hi guys,

As topic said, I am generally following this old Vista-based re-installation guide but I don't have a need for Media Direct. So the question is, will it be possible to install a fresh Windows 7 just using the Windows 7 installation DVD without the Media Direct DVD and have the M1530 run properly in ACHI mode?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes just set SATA operation to AHCI and boot off the Windows 7 disc, you shouldn't have any issues OR you can do it in IDE mode and do the AHCI registry change later on.

I did it last night on my 15z. The BIOS is already in AHCI, so I tell it to boot from CD and it just run from there.
