    Hey all,

Since I'm not very knowledgeable in the laptop stuff I figured I would ask here real quick. I'm trying to sell off my SLI video cards from my Alienware M9750. These cards are the Geforce Go! 7950 GTX cards. Someone was asking me if they fit in a Dell M1710?

Some google searches showed that they came with a 7900 card. I just don't want to give out wrong info. Can this laptop accept the 7950 card(s) ?

    Thanks!

7900GTX/FX 2500M and 7950GTX/FX 3500M are pretty much same card, but different bios. 7950 is basically slightly OC'ed version of it.

It's not worth the upgrade if your 7900GTX has no problem, but if you have 7900GS, it's an upgrade.

I don't know if the Alienware's 7950GTX is different, but my Dell M1710 (which just died .... http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=340357 ) it DID take a 7950 GTX - it was a free upgrade by Dell when my 2nd 7900GTX died.

Doh. I didn't read Alienware part. It won't fit unless it's Dells.

    Thanks all

I greatly appreciate the quick responses! Sucks that the companies seem to monopolize these parts. I just didn't want to give someone false hope.

So.... that does beg the question. Do these cards ONLY fit in an M9750?
