Hey everyone. I've been a stalker here for a while, but I haven't bothered to post until now because until now, I haven't had a question.

I just got my nice, shiny new XPS which is awesome. It kills my desktop in every way...

But I only got the 8700's and I'm thinking that I should have paid for the 8800's.

Besides returning it and re-ordering it somehow with Dell, is there any way to get it upgraded? Like, any sites available with upgrades available by themselves? Or am I pretty much stuck until Dell releases the individual upgrade?

Thanks in advance, and I love the forum BTW :)

Even if there are sites with upgrades, such an upgrade will likely void your warranty. I advise you to call them to check, and if it does void it just return it.

Hey, I think the easiest thing would be to return it, order a new one with the upgrade to what you want.

You should still be within you allotted return for replacement/refund period. ;)

Yeah, I paid for the 3year "Bumper to Bumper" warranty, so I figure if I call them and just talk to them about it, they might be able to do something.

I'll call and ask, and see what they say :)

    Thanks for the advice!

Yes, give them a call and see what they say. But remember, that you do have that *time frame* for a *return/replacement* ~ if you do decide to do anything. And, that usually starts from the date of invoice, that's something very important to keep in mind. ;)

Gotcha - Thanks for the heads up. I'll call them today and find out what my options are. :)
