Will they ship you parts so you can fix things yourself? Or do they insist on a tech doing it for you? My screen bezel isn't flush and I don't want a tech fixing it and messing something else up in the process. I have a Studio XPS 13.

Yes they will send you the part so you can fix it yourself....
Happened with me... first with a hard drive and then my cover above the keyboard on my M1330. -
Next time I need to replace my keyboard...I shall be doing it myself! Anything fairly simple..I'd rather take care of based on my past experience with my local Technicians..(unless I can specifically get the last person I had before).

Do you need to have a more expensive warranty for that? or does the normal 1 year return to depot allow that as well?

Confirmed. With a standard warranty, they're sending me a keyboard and a display assembly so I can replace them myself. They will send shipping labels for anything they want back.
