As I'm sure those of you who installed it are aware, the latest Version of Quickset is now ran on startup as a service. Yay! However, for me, when it opens it also opens the Windows Mobility Centre on startup. Does anyone know a way to keep QuickSet on startup, but stop the Mobility Centre popping up?

I will look into this for you over the weekend but my test rig will be M1330XPS -

Just installed on my m1330 with Windows 7 64-bit and still no overlays for volume changes and whatnot. Damn, was really hoping they fixed that.

@Eambo OK did a few test on my rig with Dell QS v.9460
Install QS v9460 and at no stage did I have the Mobility center load at startup.
As you should know QS is loaded at startup by default when shipped from Dell.
When I run QS (v9460) then selected Mobility center I had only 4 or 5 options in the menu (Layovers) as appose to 10 which I had from my orignal QS v8 and also my modded QS. I also noted that the QS tray shortcut loaded in the taskbar then despaired but it was still run when I check in Processes manager.
What laptop are you using?
Any how for me I went back and installed v8 and imported files from DELL QS v9460 (which I had saved before hand) into my newly installed QS program folder and all is fine.
So if the QS v9460 is not intended for you laptop you may will try out this mod.

@gage006 did you have the menu (overlays) working at any stage before?
You may try the above mod... -
Eambo... just uninstall all references to Quickset. Once this is done, run CCleaner - check your registry.
Once this is done, follow the instructions on my blog (on the driver page). This is the exact same way I installed Quickset on my laptop and we both have the same model. Remember, after the initial install of the base driver - do not uninstall - just download the next Quickset and run the installer (you will be prompted to 'update your Quickset' or it will present you with a options box (if you get the options, do NOT select backlighting).
I do not have the mobility center popup at startup and this is how it looks for me (yes, it runs as a local machine process): -
For some reason this install I don't have the overlays either. I'll try again =-P
Edit: For some reason my Overlays refuse to work =-P Here is what I done:
Removed QuickSet
Ran Ccleaner
Installed the first one
Installed the second one, unchecking the keyboard option
Installed the third one, simply 'updating'
Installed the fourth one, again, updating.
My Volume overlay doesn't show up (Which is weird because I've had it before) and the mobility centre still shows up on startup =-P -
