I got my m1530 with 4 gig of ram, however in the windows experience test done by vista I only get a score of 5.1 on RAM, my mate gets a score of 5.4 and he only has 2gig!.

    WHAT THAT ALL ABOUT!

    1) You can use 3.2Gb or so.... (google that if you wish)

    2) Clock speeds are very important.

If this is true its very dissapointing since he bought the cheapest laptop he could get and yet it outperformes my xps.

As for me being a jerk. If someone is going to take the time to post, they may as well post something that makes sense.

just because he has better ram does not mean his laptop will out perform your xps

also, 32bit vista can only read 3gb of ur 4gb ram

Dude his post makes PERFECT sense

Clockspeed = how fast the ram is....your friend can have the CHEAPEST laptop but he can have 800mhz ram thus FASTER THAN YOURS

vista 32-bit---can only read from 3 to 3.5 gbs of ram so anything extra that you have is well...........useless unless you have 64bit vista

now PLEASE be nice..........if someone posts something that YOU don't understand please ask to explain...don't say it's useless

You know what actually...........your problem may be between the keyboard and the chair

    :D :D :D :D :D :D :D lol joking ....but please take a chill pill

The real question is why do you even think that WEI is a good indicator of performance? It is not.

If you are going to bash people for providing even semi-helpful posts, then don't ask about it. They're taking the time out to type for your benefit, not theirs.

This thread will be closed if it keeps up, so everyone please play nice.

Does your friend have an AMD CPU in his notebook? AMD CPU's, due to their on-die memory controller, access memory much faster than Intel CPU's which must rely on a separate memory controller chip.
