All screens are RGB. Made up of red, green and blue pixels.
-
i know that, but why " RGB LED" screens? whats the difference between regular "LED" screens and Dell's new "RGB LED"?
-
am i seeing sli technology listed there???
-
The RGB LED backlit displays use three separate diodes (red, green, blue) to produce white light, contrary to the standard (white) LED ones which use one, usually a blue diode covered with phosphor. They have significantly larger color space/gamut compared to standard white LED and CCFL backlight displays used in notebooks and will produce much more saturated (deeper, more natural) colors.

RGB LED technology itself isn't new but it's expensive and has mainly been used in high-end LCD monitors and HDTVs.
That's Nvidia Hybrid SLI technology which means Nvidia integrated and dedicated cards working together when gaming, and only integrated when need battery life.

It's a higher quality screen overall. I know they push it in their business line for a 'true' photoshop experience. It would be only worth it, in my opinion, if you are doing video or photo editing for a profession.
-
Would it be worth it for playing games or would I be better off getting the white LED display ?
-
I wouldn't. The white LED screen is good enough on its own. This is really geared toward professionals. It will probably be considerably more, maybe $250 more.
-
well i think i'll stick to the white led for now...
