    Greetings,

This is my first post here although I have been lurking for awhile now. My Dell XPS Studio 16 (1645) is only about 6 months old. Specs:

    Win 7 Pro 64
    i7 Q720
    8GB RAM
    Bios A9
    upgraded power cord
    ATI HD4670 video

Recently, I have had issues with the random restart problem (the weird kernel error 41 error). I first tried to restore to the factory image, only to find there wasn't one on the recovery partition. (when I first got my Dell, i royally fubar'd the HDD and had to get a new one sent in and replaced) I decided to just remove that and do a complete format of the drive and reinstalled all the drivers manually (an in the Dell recommended order). This doesn't seem to be the issue since I still get random restarts. I have tried the method mentioned in a thread from this site about disabling the IDT Audio driver and that hasn't helped.

One thing I have noticed, is that this issue seems to only occur whenever I have a removable drive of some sort attached. Whether it be an portable drive or a USB flash drive. I was wondering if anyone knew of any possible reasons for this. Perhaps a different driver for the USB controllers or whether it is just a happy accident. I was just curious if anyone had any ideas before I called Dell and started complaining.

Speaking of Dell, My warranty will be expiring in a few months and I was thinking about extending it, seeing as how this was a pretty expensive notebook and isn't even paid off yet. Has anyone done this and is it worth the money?

The other problem I am having is with my Logitech wireless mouse. It loses connectivity to the receiver every once in a while, forcing me to restart in order to repair it. i have the latest drivers from Logitech installed and it appears to occur to whichever of my mice are connected. (I have 3 Logitech wireless mice, all 3 are different models)

I have disabled the power save options in my Power Profile as well as in Bios. Any thoughts?

Thanks for taking the time to read all of this.
