According to reports of a user who has the core, that is. He said it cut in and out, but it worked. I hope to test this myself soon.

I've got a core running perfectly happily with an XPS 15 9550.
Dell's latest TB3 software isn't designed for external GPUs, and it pretends it isn't compatible but that, alongside the BIOS update (Jan 2017) makes it seem to run totally fine. It's hot swappable, so you pull out the TB cord and it reverts to the 960m, plug it back in and hey presto it's running the Core. (MSI 1080 in this case).
