Received my Studio XPS 16, but now it's $150 cheaper!

So I ordered my XPS1640 about 2-3 weeks ago. Arrived at my house on Monday. Later that day I go onto Dell's website, and see my exact same laptop on sale for $150 less than what I paid. The only difference is lack of McAfee and a smaller HDD. So I customized it the same as mine, with McAfee and the larger HDD and I still would've saved $60-70.

Do I have a legitimate beef here? Should I call and complain, and will they do anything for me anyways?

EDIT: And actually, I forgot to add that my girlfriend who just got a new Dell as well, had her model suddenly go on sale for $100 less than what she paid.

That's just how the tech world is man. One week it's on sale and the next it's not. Mostly just luck of the draw.

I don't think so. Prices change in the electronics biz daily. And remeber, that $60-70 is not for a laptop today, it is for one in 2-3 weeks.

Yea after thinking about it over the past couple days I realised that that's how it works. Walk into a store and buy a computer, the X750 model. As they take it off the shelf, they put another thing up on the shelf. The X755. For $50 less.

I was just curious if anyone else had any luck with complaining to Dell.

If you're within the 21 day return period, call them, and they should adjust the price.

Otherwise you can return what you got, and re-buy at the lower price.

I'm 100% sure Dell has a "price match" period after the purchase if the price goes lower.

Depends, if bought thru EPP..he may have some luck. Per our EPP agreement, if something recently purchased has gone down in price - or there is a different promo ~ they are supposed to match that promo.

EPP is the educational promotion ya? Sweet. I will keep that in mind... now I am just waiting a few months for Dell to work out all the manufacturing kinks on the Studio XPS 13 (uneven feet...) and hoping the SSD prices go down a bit. Also want to make sure that the S-XPS 13 doesn't melt it's screen. :p

Yup...It's the Employee Purchase Program. For Students/Educational/and Employers that participate.

It does have some great advantages...My EPP Rep...he always does overnight shipping for free, and matches the deals I find.
Yesterday, I bought an accessory, and he matched the consumer home site pricing, the 25% off coupon! I also got my 7% EPP, and 4% DPA discount on top of that! :D And, its already been delivered today!

So, yes keep it in mind! :D

    Cin ;) :)
