I just received my XPS m1530 this morning and it only took
2 days to deliver after shipping point even though I got the free standard shipping. You can check specs and order status from my sig.
So when I opened the box, I crossed my fingers and prayed I dont
    get any faulty parts.

Fortunately, the laptop's bottom is evenly based with 9 cell battery
and no bulge on keyboard, no missing screws what so ever.
I am so glad that I got the 9 cell battery because it gives a great position
for my hand to type and palm to rest. Palmrest space DO gets warm but I dont think it get really HOT. Also, LED screen is just so BEAUTIFUL, BRILLIANT, and BRIGHT  !! I do not see any light bleeding coming out from LED either.

The keyboards are kinda stiffer than my old laptop but I'm sure I'll get use to it.
Also, the weight of this laptop is so lighter than I thought even though
I got the 9 cell battery compared to my 4 years old Fujitu C2310 which weighs about 7.8 lbs. I wonder how light m1330 would be if 1530 is this light.
EDIT: Forgot to mention my slot load drive is from Optiarc and I haven't had any major noise occuring from
the drive yet. Also, HD is from western digital

So here I am and was just playing around with my XPS.
This is my first time using Vista so I was kind of afraid of using it
but I think I could manage it.

Here are some pictures I took even though I'm a bad picture taker :p

(my fujitsu c2310 and xps m1530) not sure if you could see the brightness difference in this pic, but xps m1530 is much brighter than my old laptop.

My lowest subscore according to Windows is 4.8, which is the RAM subscore, yet yours is 5.0, and you have 3 GIG of RAM while I have 4 GIG... How can I boost my RAM score???

I'm not really sure how I can lower the RAM score.
What I did is I just did some tweaks using tweaking vista guide from
the sticky. You could try that.

Congrats :) I hope you like it. The best thing you should do is to improve it's performance with tweaks after a format. I'm glad people are still buying the XPS without waiting for what's to come. Once you get it, you won't regret it. I'm planning to keep mine until the end.

My only guess is that you're not using the same brand for memory? Otherwise you can just check your index again. I wouldn't worry about it, it's just a marketing ploy. It's not a good benchmark.

I don't know for sure except that it's the RAM that was included with my computer at order.

Congratulations, I ordered mine on the 12th and my shipping date is July 1, so I've got a couple more weeks.

I'm a little bit leery too about using Vista. I've heard quite a few bad things about it, but hopefully it's getting better.

The bad things you've heard about vista occurred from people either installing it on machines that were incapable of running it, or within the first year of the release when there were driver support problems. I've had vista for about a year now (installed it when I built my current computer) and have been very pleased with everything and haven't noticed any OS based problems.
