    Hi, all.

I have an XPS M1530 that is stuck in sleep mode, and I've literally taken the thing apart down to individual components in the hope of tripping up whatever has it in a coma and inducing it to awaken. No hope.

I'm now to the point of thinking the situation is permanent, but I hadn't really planned on buying a new notebook this year. As I've seen that motherboard replacement is the typical solution for this issue (already tried baking the GPU with no luck), I'm wondering if anyone knew of or had good experiences with any aftermarket/refurb places for M1530 system boards, and what I might be looking to pay for one.

I realize now the gamble is dropping, who knows $100 or so (?) on a refurb, plugging it in, and finding myself where I am right now, or just rolling the $ into a new machine. Right now, I'm leaning (slightly) toward taking the gamble on a refurb motherboard.

    Thoughts, caveats, brickbats appreciated.
    David
