    Hi,

I just got the Dell XPS 12 with Windows 8 and activated Pro Question...

    If I follow these instruction

    You have a couple options:

If you would like to reinstall Windows 8, which means removing apps and personal files and settings, you can use reset and refresh. This is equivalent to a clean install.

To do it, do the following:

    · Press Windows key + i on your keyboard to show the Charms bar (If you are using a touchscreen: Touch the right edge of your screen and swipe your finger to the left)

    · Click Settings

    · Click Change PC settings

    · Click General in the left column

    · Under Remove everything and reinstall Windows, click Get started

Will it restore to DELL factory default or will it restore / clean Windows 8 w/o any Dell bloatware? Anyone know?

Another question. I read somewhere Dell now store their Windows Product Key in the BIOS. I purchased this laptop with Windows 8 standard and later purchase the activation code for PRO upgrade. If I wipe this system, can I just go directly and use the Windows 8 Pro Upgrade ISO to clean install this?

    Thanks,
    SPK

If laptop came with OEM version of Win8 then most likely it will restore to the state your laptop came to you from the factory (including the bloatware).

In regards to the other question you may be able to use the upgrade key to do a full install but perhaps you could test it in a VM?
