    Refresh of Dell Studio XPS Line? When?

    Well im currently using the Dell XPS M1330 since 2008 let me say it has been awesome! The only problem has been the battery which has been dead since early February I believe so I have been operating using the adapter. The dead battery is still in the laptop.

    However, now my idle temps are over 75 c and often over 80 c, so im thinking about selling this in fact I will be selling this shortly. Especially given the fact that the warranty ran out in February of this year.

    Anyhow, im wondering if the XPS line will be refreshed in 2010 and when can we expect some new XPS models. I only purchase my computers from Best Buy and currently they really do not have anything which really grabs me. Yes they do have the Studio XPS 1340 however it has no bluetooth, no fingerprint reader and general so-so and negative reviews.

    Also the dell website no longer has 13" Studio XPS laptops how come?

    SXPS 13 has been discontinued until later this year (there is a quote from a Dell guy explaining why - basically they couldn't do the update they wanted with the chassis they had and so they took it off the line).

    I doubt you'll see a major refresh of the SXPS 16 for a while - possibly they'll update the GPU but I haven't heard anything as to when.

    Thanks for the clarification Aquitaine, looking forward to the XPS 13 coming back. I need to get a new laptop by the end of April-early May so hopefully Best Buy has some better options in the below 14" segment by that time.

    Tomorrow im heading out to buy a new battery and cooling pad for the M1330. Then after buying those I will advertise it for sale.

    Apart from GPU, there are other several issues with XPS line laptops. So its now a high time for Dell to refresh the series else it will be behind in the race. I like the XPS 16 what ever laptops I have seen till date for my requirement/budget, but as it has complains for such issues I'm putting my hands down :(

    Yeah i know how you feel about that, but you never experience it that bad at times though.

    Only 2 things are stopping me from getting the Studio XPS laptop line.

    1. No USB 3.0 yet
