Hello all, just recently ordered a Dell XPS 15 from the Dell Outlet and was wondering if the laptop would be reliable?

Has anyone purchased a refurb xps and are happy with it or notice any issues? Also, do I need to purchase a warranty or is it included? I'm a little nervous but feel like I got a pretty good deal.

Also, does the XPS 15 come in both obsidian black and silver aluminum or just silver? TIA.

It really shouldn't be any more or less reliable than a new machine. There should be a one-year warranty standard, but I'm sure what the warranty upgrade options are for an outlet XPS.

I got a refurbished XPS 15 (l501x) as a system replacement and my warranty ran out, so idk about warranty. as for the system, everything felt pretty new. there was maybe 1 or 2 minor scratches (very minor, cant see unless looking for it).

and for the color...i thought there was only one color/design for the xps 15 wiht no way. the lid, bottom, sides are all silver and the keyboard, palmrest is black. haven't seen any different than that.

    Refurb systems are very good,

I just got a Dell XPS 15Z Following Spec:

    i7 2640M
    8GB RAM
    256GB SSD
    N wifi/Bluetooth
    1080P Screen

Received the order a month ago and it had a problem with the screen bezel not being screwed/glued correctly (was showing band of light)

Told the Dell outlet rep and he advised me to take pictures, then authorised a replacement unit to be sent out.

Received a Second unit (whilst still in possession of previous system) and this one was immaculate!

I paid £898.87 and the RRP on a NEW system is currently £1379

    So total savings of £480!

The only blemish i can find on the system is a tiny rub mark on the palmrest looks like it has been used for less than a week and the rest of the parts looked brand new.

Came with full warranty and if you are patient and if you are not happy with the order it seems like dell will replace it until you are happy,

On another note i dont even have to pay return shipping! :D
