    Hello all,

A while ago when turning my M1530 on, i pressed the MediaDirect button by accident. Now this obviously starts the install of MediaDirect and scanning my C: drive. I didn't actually want to do this and the process never actually finished.

So i notice i not have an F: drive, a MediaDirect drive, which appears to have most of my C: drive files mirrored on it. Now i don't intend to ever use MediaDirect, so i tried to format the drive. But it won't format. After messing around on device manager, i find that both my C: drive and F: (MediaDirect) drives are constantly active, and i havn't got a clue why. And at this point i am finding this extra partition to just be untidy and i wish to remove it, but since it is somehow constantly active, i havn't got a clue how to do so.

Can anybody help me remove this MediaDirect drive?

With Vista, you should be able to right Click on Computer and select manage. From the computer management screen, select the Disk Management in the left pane. Then right click the Media Drive partition and see if you can format or delete it. Then right click on your C partition and select Extend Volume. You should then be able to recover the Media Drive space.
