Hi everyone. For some reason, there are several VERY tiny crumps of something stuck in the indented dots near the speakers, above the media control buttons. I tried picking them out with a toothpick, but it only seems to make it all worse.

When I asked this in the other thread, someone suggested to "pop" the thing off and blow out whatever's stuck in the little dots, but I have no idea how, nor am I willing to experiment and risk deforming the laptop in any way.

Now everytime, I flip open the lid of the laptop, I would see these white dots stuck in the tiny indented dots.

So please, if anyone have any good suggestions, please enlighten me so.

You might want to try tape to see if it picks some of them up...

If you look in your manual you will instructions on how to take off the black strip that has those holes above the speaker. Simply put, take out the battery, unscrew two small screws (putting them very carefully in a place that you can't knock over) and gently pop off the black strip. You can then use tap or compressed air, etc..., to try to get at the crumbs. Try the two suggestions above first but if they don't work, try poping the strip off.

No, neither tape nor compressed air seem to work.

I looked at the manuel, but for some reason, I can't seem to unscrew the screws. Maybe because I don't have the appropriate screw driver for the job. :(

Blu-Tack, or somet sticky that will go into the holes a little and pull out the white specs of 'dust'.

i have the same problem on my 1530, except most of the dust / crumbs are in the dents that ARENT above the speakers; the holes only go all the way through where the speakers are, everywhere else its just indentations.
